Wireless switches can be used to control any of the receivers in the Wise Controls range. The function of the switch, and each of its buttons, depends upon the function of the wireless receiver it is programmed to. Therefore a single button can be used for a variety of functions including, but not restricted to, on/off, on/off and dimming, or master off only.

Wise vogue switches are recessed. They are battery powered and a CR2430 battery is included with each unit. The CR2430 Battery has a life span of 4-5 years.

Common questions

Do I need Wi-Fi for this to work?
No. The Wise platform runs on radio frequency (RF), independent of your home Wi-Fi or broadband. The system continues to function during internet outages.
Is special programming software required?
No software, hub or laptop is needed for standard setup. Pairing is done by pressing buttons on the receiver and transmitter in sequence — any qualified installer or competent homeowner can do it.
Can I add this to an existing Wise installation?
Yes. Any new Wise receiver or transmitter pairs directly with existing kit. There's no version lock — Wise Box receivers, Scene controllers and Fusion dimmers all live on the same RF platform regardless of generation.
Does it need a qualified electrician to install?
Wireless transmitters (keypads, remotes, PIRs) can be installed by a competent person without mains work. Receivers and dimmers wire into the mains supply and must be installed by a qualified electrician. Free training is available — see our training page.
