The Wise Retractive Switch Transmitter Volt Free is designed to be used with any volt free contacts. This means it can be wired to a variety of mains voltage products, with the signal interfacing with any of our Wise receivers.
The control push buttons work with a 12V power supply and they are isolated from the 240V line by a transformer, keeping the connections of the push-buttons separate from the 240V power supply.
It can be programmed in 2 different ways using any push-to-make switch:
- Option A : Single Button Switching ON/OFF - The circuit can be turned ON/OFF from a single button.
- Option B : Two Button Switching ON/OFF - The circuit can be turned ON/OFF from two buttons, for independent ON and OFF.

Common questions
Do I need Wi-Fi for this to work?
No. The Wise platform runs on radio frequency (RF), independent of your home Wi-Fi or broadband. The system continues to function during internet outages.
Is special programming software required?
No software, hub or laptop is needed for standard setup. Pairing is done by pressing buttons on the receiver and transmitter in sequence — any qualified installer or competent homeowner can do it.
Can I add this to an existing Wise installation?
Yes. Any new Wise receiver or transmitter pairs directly with existing kit. There's no version lock — Wise Box receivers, Scene controllers and Fusion dimmers all live on the same RF platform regardless of generation.
Does it need a qualified electrician to install?
Wireless transmitters (keypads, remotes, PIRs) can be installed by a competent person without mains work. Receivers and dimmers wire into the mains supply and must be installed by a qualified electrician. Free training is available — see our training page.
Where can I buy it?
Wise Controls equipment is sold through authorised electrical wholesalers nationwide — see our stockists page for the full list, or contact us for the closest distributor to your project.
